Coastal Hazard Statement
Issued: 8:50 PM AST Feb. 21, 2019 – National Weather Service

... High rip current risk remains in effect through late Saturday
night...

* location... beaches along the northwest coast of Puerto Rico.

* Timing... through late Saturday night.

* Impacts... strong currents that can carry even the best of
swimmers out to sea.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

There is a high risk of rip currents.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
