well, I guess I'll wind this up.
it's been a warm spring. the water temperatures did not get below 18C, 63F, as far as I know. I was reading an old fish-collecting survey from 1950 done around cedar key and that was the mean temp for that winter. but I've been working out on the water surveying the fish populations for 16 years and don't remember such a warm winter. 38F here. roosters doing their best to get that sun up. cats went out. dog refuses to leave the couch. the moon is up and setting over the fallen down horse barn. time to go out and check the sheep.

09:10, gray and gloomy in North Florida. 50F here in Rocky Hammock. 43 in Cross City (betting that no one knows the local legend on how they got their name..) 53 at Cedar Key. north wind, 10 - 18 knts. I'm thinking the rain has passed but will wait for a bit to go get hay.
it's lambing season here at the farm. lambs arrived just before Christmas and there's still a few ewes waiting ... they all need that hay. this morning, at 05:30, eveyone, sheep and lam...

22:33, 77F, raining hard, big gusts that are bringing down branches and dead trees here at the old farm in Rocky Hammock. new moon today. just dumped the rain gauge which was topped at 6". the yard's flooded and starting to work its way under the house.
I moved the guard dog from the south facing porch where she was getting soaked into the mud porch. sheep are in the barn which I hope will hold together.
