5:00 am, it is 41 degrees. Of course with the time change I awoke at 4 am... perfect time to update the weather blog. We had glorious Halloween weather, 50's and windy, blowing leaves around, boooo. It is very misty in the woods behind me, another pleasing picture in the dark, with an almost full moon, peeking through the clouds, creating moonshadows, triggering those roosters to cockadoodle dooooo.. (doesn't really sound like that) They are predicting pretty consistent seasonal weather for this week. After driving into town on an icy, snowy road Wednesday, I look forward to a little more snowless grace time.

There is something in the air. Pictures can not capture it. It is beyond the sense of sight, it is the smell of leaves fallen on the ground, the light touch of a breeze brushing the cheek, the rustling sound of trees letting go of summer....It is fall, and it assaults all the senses. Happy autumn

The weather really does determine so much in life. After a glorious day yesterday, it is raining, cold and dreary. Yesterday morn, pre light, I went outside and breathed in the fresh air, and looked up and saw the stars, and a shooting star blazed by, disappearing before I was sure it was there. And this morning, cold rain. Period. Kind of puts a "damper" on outdoor activity. The wet leaves, never really having time to change colors the way fall intends, are pil...

After REALLY cold weather, we are back into normal temperatures. Fall made it after all. It is so much sweeter after 3 nights of being in the teens. Went for a morning drive yesterday morning, hoping to catch sight of some elk I had sighted in summer. With the mowing of the alfalfa fields, they don't come down so far. It's a beutiful drive, I like to start my weekends(Wed and Thursday) driving backroads, looking for Mother Natures action!

Brrrrr..... I have woken the last two mornings to temps in the teens. And, it is COLD. I am hoping fall will make an appearance, but if not, I have finished most of the need to do list...mainly finishing the insulation of the chicken coop. Enjoy those chickens, for sure! The heat lamps seem to be doing the trick, we shall see, when the temperatures get even colder. Looking hopefully, for fall to make a visit.
