Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 2:37 PM PDT Jun. 28, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 8 PM PDT this evening
for wind and low relative humidity for central Cascade valleys
and Waterville Plateau...

* affected area: fire weather zone 673 East Washington northern
Columbia Basin (zone 673) and fire weather zone 677 East
Washington central Cascade valleys (zone 677).

* Winds: northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30 mph,
decreasing by midnight to 8 to 13 mph. Winds will continue to
decrease on Thursday, and become light southerly or
southeasterly during Thursday afternoon.

* Relative humidities: 15 to 20 percent this afternoon and early
evening, increasing to around 30 percent by 9pm and 50 percent
by sunrise..

* impacts: any ongoing or new fires will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... .or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
