The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a heat advisory... which is in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 8 PM CDT this evening.
Very hot temperatures ranging from the mid 90s to around 107 degrees along with dewpoints in the middle to upper 70s will produce widespread heat indices between 110 and 115 degrees today across most of south Texas. These heat indices will be in the danger level.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Children... the elderly and people with chronic ailments are usually the first to suffer from the heat. Heat exhaustion... cramps or in extreme cases heat stroke can result from prolonged exposure to these conditions. Friends... relatives or neighbors should check on people who may be at risk.
If you must be outside... reduce your activities... drink plenty of water... take frequent breaks and wear light colored clothing.
