Fire Weather Warning, Fire Weather Watch
Issued: 7:33 AM CDT Mar. 18, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect from noon today to 9 PM CDT
this evening for gusty winds and very dry conditions...

... Fire Weather Watch remains in effect from Monday morning
through Monday evening...

* wind... west to northwest winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts over
30 mph.

* Humidity... 10 to 15 percent.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will spread rapidly. Outdoor
burning is strongly discouraged.

* Timing... dangerous fire weather conditions develop Sunday
afternoon for areas west of an Abilene to San Angelo to Ozona
line. After a brief lull Sunday night, dangerous fire weather
conditions may redevelop again Monday morning and continue
for portions of the day.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... .or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior. Do not drive through tall
grass. Dispose of cigarettes properly. Limit any outdoor
activities that involve fire or flames, such as welding.
