Flood Warning
Issued: 8:07 AM CST Feb. 23, 2018 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Denton creek near Justin.
* From this afternoon to late tonight... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 0700 am Friday the stage was 7.10 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will rise to a crest of 10 feet by Friday
afternoon. The river should fall below flood stage by Friday
evening.
* At 10 feet, minor out of bank flooding will occur to farm and ranch
lands near the creek.

Areal Flood Watch

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Saturday morning...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of north central Texas and northeast Texas, including
the following areas, in north central Texas, Collin, Dallas,
Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman,
Rockwall, and Tarrant. In northeast Texas, Delta, Hopkins,
Lamar, rains, and Van Zandt.

* Through Saturday morning

* rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches can be expected today with an
additional 1 to 2 inches on Saturday with a line of
thunderstorms. Total additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 5
inches can be expected with isolated heavier totals

* soils are saturated across North Texas and any additional
rainfall will result in rapid runoff which is likely to lead
to flooding.

which may lead to flooding of low lying areas. You should monitor
