Flash Flood Watch

... Flash Flood Watch now in effect through Friday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* a portion of west central Texas, including the following
areas, Brown, Callahan, Coke, Coleman, Concho, Crockett,
Haskell, Irion, Jones, Kimble, Mason, McCulloch, Menard,
Runnels, San Saba, Schleicher, Shackelford, Sutton, Taylor,
Throckmorton, and Tom Green.

* Through 7 am Friday morning

* rainfall amounts up to 1 inch will be common, with localized
amounts of 1-2 inches possible.

* These rainfall amounts, along with already saturated soils,
will produce rapid runoff, and low water crossings and city
streets may flood quickly. Creeks and streams may overflow with
swiftly flowing water.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
