Flood Watch, Areal Flood Watch, Areal Flood Advisory

The Flood Watch continues for
the Coquille river at Coquille
* until Monday evening.
* At 2:30 PM Saturday the stage was 18.6 feet.
* Minor flooding is possible.
* Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
* Forecast... flood stage may be reached Sunday.

... Flood Watch remains in effect through late tonight...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of northern California and southwest Oregon,
including the following areas, in northern California, western
Siskiyou County. In southwest Oregon, Curry County coast,
eastern Curry County and Josephine County, and south central
Oregon coast.

* Through late tonight

* periods of heavy rainfall and mountain snowmelt will create
increased runoff. 2 to 3 inches of additional rainfall with
localized additional amounts up to 4 inches in the mountains
are expected in the watch area. Snow levels will rise to 7000
feet through the duration of the heaviest rain. High rainfall
rates near one half inch per hour are possible and there is
potential for flooding in urban areas. Significant rises in
small streams and creeks are expected, and flooding is possible.
Significant rises in rivers will occur, but no main Stem river
flooding is currently expected.

* There is increased potential for flooding and debris flows in
wildfire burn scar areas including the Chetco Bar and Klondike
burn scars.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Landslides and debris flows are possible during this flood event.
People, structures and roads located below steep slopes, in
canyons and near the mouths of canyons may be at serious risk
from rapidly moving landslides.

Douglas County in southwestern Oregon...
Curry County in southwestern Oregon...
Jackson County in southwestern Oregon...
Josephine County in southwestern Oregon...
Klamath County in south central Oregon...
Coos County in southwestern Oregon...

* until 200 am PST Sunday.

* At 143 PM PST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. This will cause
urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Numerous
reports of water crossing roads are being reported across the
region. Slow down and use great caution when driving.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Medford, Grants Pass, Roseburg, Klamath Falls, Ashland, Coos Bay,
Sutherlin, Yreka, Brookings, Reedsport, Mount Shasta, Cave
Junction, Port Orford, Happy Camp, Crater Lake, Central Point,
North Bend, Eagle Point, Talent and Winston.
