dusting to 3 inches, with the heaviest amounts over the Saint
Lawrence valley and far northern Vermont. Ice accumulations of
up to one tenth of an inch expected, with the highest
accumulations east of the Green Mountains. Localized wind gusts
up to 40 mph possible, especially Champlain Valley.
* Where... northern New York and all of Vermont.
* When... light snow will continue across northern New York and
spread into the mountains of central and northern Vermont this
morning, before changing to a wintry mix by late this afternoon.
A widespread rain develops tonight with areas of freezing rain
expected, due to very cold surface temperatures.
* Additional details... plan on snow covered and slippery roads
across northern New York into parts of northern Vermont
impacting the morning commute. Meanwhile, rain falling on very
cold pavement temperatures will cause hazardous driving
conditions areawide late this afternoon into the overnight
