High Wind Warning
Issued: 3:38 AM EST Feb. 25, 2018 – National Weather Service

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 6 PM EST this
evening...

* locations... Chautauqua County, mainly along and northwest of
the Chautauqua ridge.

* Timing... through early this evening.

* Winds... southeast 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph early
this morning becoming southwest 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60
mph late this morning into this afternoon.

* Impacts... damaging winds expected. Shallow rooted trees will be
the most susceptible and be downed more easily with the
recently thawed and saturated soil conditions. Travel may become
hazardous for high profile vehicles, especially along the
thruway.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

High winds of 58 mph or greater will make driving difficult and
could result in property damage, including downed trees and power
lines. Scattered power outages are expected. Home owners should
secure loose objects.
