The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a red flag
warning... which is in effect from 11 am to 9 PM MDT Friday. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Area and timing... areas located along and south of I-40, between
the AZ and TX state lines, including the Albuquerque Metro area.
The most critical conditions are expected between 2pm and 6pm
MDT both days.

* 20 foot winds... southwest and west 20 to 30 mph with gusts to
45 mph, except up to 50 mph along and just east of the central
mountains on Thursday.

* Relative humidity... several hours of single digit humidities
are expected both afternoons.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this red flag warning.

to midnight CDT /11 PM MDT/ Thursday night for relative humidity
of 15% or less, 20' winds of 20 mph or more, and high to very high
fire danger...

The National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa has issued a red
flag warning, which is in effect from 11 am CDT /10 am MDT/
Thursday to midnight CDT /11 PM MDT/ Thursday night.

* Wind... above 5000 feet, west 20 to 25 mph increasing to 25 to
35 mph in the afternoon. Below 5000 feet, west winds 20 to 25
mph. Gusts up to 45 mph in the afternoon.

* Humidity... 5%.

* Fire danger... high to very high.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong
winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute
to dangerous fire behavior.

issued a Fire Weather Watch, which is in effect from Friday
afternoon through Friday evening.

* Wind... 20 to 30 mph with gusts near 45 mph.

* Humidity... 5 to 10 percent.

* Highest threat... is located over The Lowlands west of the Rio
Grande.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

contribute to extreme fire behavior.
