Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 2:52 PM MST Feb. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 11 am Thursday to 5 am MST

* what... heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 10
inches, except 10 to 20 inches above 7500 feet expected. South
winds gusting as high as 40 mph on Thursday.

* Where... northwest Highlands, west Central Plateau, west
central mountains, west Central Highlands, Southwest
Mountains, San Francisco River Valley and Jemez Mountains.

* When... from 11 am Thursday to 5 am MST Saturday.

* Additional details... travel could become very difficult to
impossible by Thursday night. The Friday morning commute could
be especially hazardous due to snowpacked and icy roadways,
including the I-40 corridor near and west of Grants. Periods of
low visibility is likely in falling snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.
