northeastern Grant County in south central New Mexico...
southwestern Sierra County in north central New Mexico...
north central Luna County in south central New Mexico...

* until 330 PM MDT

* at 1236 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Arroyo and small stream flooding in
the advisory area due to the saturation of the ground from the
rain of the past few days.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
San Lorenzo...
San Juan...
Faywood...
Mimbres...
Sherman...
Cooney...
Iron Creek campground...
Black Canyon campgrounds...
Rocky Canyon campground...
and Bear Canyon Lake.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
