... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from Friday afternoon
through Saturday afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of central North Carolina, including the following
areas, Cumberland, Edgecombe, Franklin, Harnett, Hoke,
Johnston, Nash, Sampson, Scotland, wake, Wayne, and Wilson.

* From Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon

* heavy rain is expected to develop over the area Friday
afternoon and continue into Saturday. Storm total rainfall is
expected to range from 1.5 to 3 inches, with locally higher
amounts possible.

* This rainfall could produce, flash flooding, particularly in
poor drainage areas near creeks, streams, and ditches. Street
and river flooding is also likely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should
flash flood warnings be issued.
