Flood Warning
Issued: 10:28 AM MDT Jun. 19, 2018 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Musselshell river near Lavina affecting Golden Valley County.
* From this evening until further notice... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 9 am Tuesday the stage was 7.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.5 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will rise above flood stage by 6 PM Tuesday
and continue to rise to near 10.2 feet by 6 am Thursday. Additional
rises are possible thereafter.

Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 3:51 AM MDT Jun. 19, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch now in effect through this afternoon...

* portions of south central Montana... including the following
counties... Golden Valley... Wheatland... Carbon... park... Stillwater
and Sweet Grass.

* Through this afternoon.

* Upwards of 2 to 3 inches of rain has fallen over the area the last
36 to 48 hours. This heavy rain has caused rivers and streams to
rise aggressively. Additional heavy rain is possible today, with
more showers and thunderstorms in the forecast. This rainfall
will only exacerbate the situation, by causing already swollen
water channels, to run even higher. Area rivers and streams will
continue to run very high today, with additional flooding
possible.

* Be alert, as roads may become inundated with water, with some
rural roads possibly becoming too Muddy to traverse. Be mindful to
not cross a Road which is covered with water. Remember, turn
around don't drown.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood
warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
