The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a heat
advisory, which is in effect from 10 am to 8 PM CDT Sunday.

* Temperature... high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s with
heat indices peaking from 105 to 110 degrees.

* Impacts... hot and moist conditions will make it difficult to
cool off through early this evening and again during the bulk of
the daylight hours on Sunday. The very Young, the elderly,
those without air conditioning, and those participating in
strenuous outdoor activities will be be particularly
susceptible. Stay hydrated. Wear light colored and loose fitted
clothing.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible.

Take extra precautions, if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.
