Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 11:52 PM CDT Jul. 18, 2018 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* flood advisory for...
southern Oregon County in south central Missouri...

* until 845 am CDT Thursday.

* At 1150 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that the heavy rain had
ended over the portion of Oregon County which experienced flash
flooding earlier in the evening. There may be some residual
flooding, especially in low lying areas and near creeks and
streams that continues overnight into early Thursday morning. This
advisory will replace the Flash Flood Warning once it expires as
12:15 am.

* Creeks, streams, and low water crossings will be especially
susceptible to the dangers of flooding.
Locations in the advisory include...
Thayer... Rover...
Couch... Myrtle...

This advisory includes but is not limited to the following low water
crossings...
Route a just west of Couch...
and Highway 142 at the eleven point river.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
