	Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 4:31 AM EST on February 10, 2010 ... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 PM EST this afternoon... A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 1 PM EST this afternoon. * Light to moderate snow will continue through the morning hours... before diminishing. * Total accumulations of 6 to 10 inches can be expected through early afternoon. * Winds will increase overnight into Wednesday with sustained winds of 15 to 20 mph and frequent gusts of over 30 mph contributing to blowing and drifting snow. This may cause particular problems for exposed west to east oriented roadways. * The combination of accumulating snowfall and gusty winds will lead to poor Road conditions during the morning commute with travel remaining dangerous. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

	Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 5:00 AM EST on February 10, 2010 ... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect... Light to occasionally moderate snow will continue across all of Southeast Michigan through sunrise. The heaviest snow will occur from the Bay City and Saginaw areas southward into livinston and western Oakland counties. Accumulations within this band will reach a half inch per hour at times. Additional accumulation of 1 to 2 inches will be possible through 7 am. Elsewhere... accumulation will remain at an inch or less. In addition... increasing northerly winds will create blowing and drifting of the snow.

Statement as of 12:40 am EST on February 10, 2010 ... Record daily maximum snowfall recorded at Detroit on February 9th 2010... Record snowfall of 6.5 inches was recorded at Detroit yesterday. This breaks the old record snowfall of 5.0 inches recorded in 1886.
