Winter Storm Warning, Winter Weather Advisory

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 10 PM this evening to 1 am
EST Monday...

* what... heavy snow and mixed precipitation expected. Light snow,
mixed with freezing rain into this evening will give way to a
period of heavy snow and mixed precipitation late tonight into
Sunday. Total snow accumulations around one foot are expected
with locally higher amounts up to 18 inches over the Michigamme
Highlands from Herman into northern Marquette County. Snow
accumulations of 5 to 10 inches are expected over southern
Marquette County, mainly south of Gwinn, due to a mix of
freezing rain, sleet and snow. South of Gwinn, ice accumulations
of one tenth of an inch are expected. Strong north to northwest
winds develop Sunday, gusting as high as 50 mph Sunday
afternoon into Sunday evening, especially near Lake Superior.

* Where... Baraga and Marquette counties.

* When... for the Winter Storm Warning, from 10 PM this evening
to 1 am EST Monday. For the Winter Weather Advisory, until 10
PM EST this evening.

* Additional details... travel could be very difficult to
impossible. Widespread blowing snow Sunday afternoon into Sunday
evening will significantly reduce visibility. The strong winds
could bring down tree branches and result in power outages.

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet
and ice will make travel very hazardous or impossible.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery
roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
