Winter Weather Advisory, Wind Chill Advisory

... Winter Weather Advisory now in effect from 2 PM this afternoon
to midnight CST tonight...
... Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect from 9 PM this evening
to 11 am CST Wednesday...

* what... mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow expected. Very cold
wind chills expected. The ice will result in very slippery
conditions on elevated roads and bridges. Total ice
accumulations of a light glaze are expected. Expect wind chills
to range from 5 above zero to 12 above zero.

* Where... portions of southeast Louisiana, southeast Mississippi
and southern Mississippi.

* When... for the Winter Weather Advisory, 2 PM today to
midnight. For the Wind Chill Advisory, 9 PM this evening to 11
am Wednesday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain,
sleet, and snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. The
latest Road conditions for the state you are calling from can be
obtained by calling 5 1 1.

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will
combine to create low wind chills. Frost bite and hypothermia can
occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.






Hard Freeze Warning
Issued: 10:56 AM CST Jan. 16, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Hard freeze warning remains in effect from 6 PM this evening
to noon CST Wednesday...

* temperature... lows will fall into the mid teens to lower 20s
along and north of the I-10/12 corridor. South of I-10 lows
will range from 20 to 25.

* Duration... freezing conditions will likely last for 12 to 26
hours over much of the warned area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A hard freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are
imminent or highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and
other sensitive vegetation.
