The Flood Warning continues for
the Ohio River at Golconda.
* From Wednesday morning until further notice.
* At 11:00 am Monday the stage was 38.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 40.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Wednesday morning and continue
to rise to near 45.4 feet by Wednesday evening, February 28th.
Additional rises are possible thereafter.
* Impact... at 46.0 feet... flooding begins to affect Rosiclare
Illinois.

The National Weather Service in Paducah, Kentucky has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Ohio River at Smithland dam.
* From Friday morning until further notice.
* At 11:00 am Monday the stage was 37.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 40.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by late Friday morning and
continue to rise to near 41.5 feet by Wednesday evening, February
28th. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
* Impact... at 40.0 feet... minor flooding occurs affecting mainly
bottomland and surrounding and low lying areas.

the Ohio River at Paducah
* from this morning until further notice.
* At 11:00 am Monday the stage was 38.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 39.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by this afternoon and continue to
rise to near 43.0 feet by Thursday morning, March 1st.
* Impact... at 43.0 feet... moderate flooding occurs affecting several
small unprotected towns.

... Strong gusty winds are expected to continue until nightfall...

Sustained winds this afternoon will continue at 15 to 25 mph out
of the south, with gusts in the 30 to 40 mph range, for the
remainder of the daylight hours. Isolated gusts above 40 mph are
possible, especially where cloud cover thins out. Winds are
expected to diminish somewhat after nightfall, but will still
remain gusty.

Expect these strong winds to impact area travel and outdoor work,
so be advised, especially if driving a high profile vehicle.
Mobile homes and construction sites will feel the impact of these
winds and gusts. Also on area lakes, the southern orientation of
the wind will create especially choppy conditions for north to
south running lakes, like Rend Lake, Barkley and Kentucky lakes,
as well as other lakes and rivers.
