... Forecast flooding increased from minor to moderate severity...
the Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Spencer.
* Until further notice.
* At 10:30 am Friday the stage was 15.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 20.3 feet by
Tuesday evening. Additional rises may be possible thereafter.
* At 20.0 feet... Hyden Road, fifth Avenue, and west side of Cooper
street in southern Spencer begin to flood.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Eel River at Bowling Green.
* From Saturday evening to Monday evening.
* At 10:30 am Friday the stage was 9.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tomorrow late evening and
continue to rise to near 18.3 feet by Sunday morning. The river
will fall below flood stage by Monday morning.
* At 18.0 feet... typical high water after heavy rains. This causes
extensive flooding of bottomlands and floods many County roads.
Persons living in river Cabins are inconvenienced. Campers must
move from low ground. Poland-Bowling Green Road is impassable.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Newberry.
* Until Saturday March 03.
* At 10:30 PM Thursday the stage was 14.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 19.4 feet by
Tuesday morning. The river will fall below flood stage late
Saturday morning.
* At 19.0 feet... extensive agricultural flooding is in progress. Some
state and County roads flood. County Road 600 W just north of
river flooded by possibly more than two feet of water for a
considerable distance in Mary Long Cutoff area. County roads 900 W
and 750 S begin to flood in Greene County.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Elliston.
* Until Sunday March 04.
* At 8:00 am Thursday the stage was 18.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 25.4 feet by
Tuesday morning. The river will fall below flood stage Sunday
morning.
* At 26.0 feet... Shawnee airfield floods as flood waters begin to get
into the hangar. Relocation of livestock may be necessary.

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Indiana, east central Indiana, south
central Indiana, southeast Indiana, southwest Indiana, and
west central Indiana, including the following areas, in
central Indiana, Bartholomew, Decatur, Hancock, Hendricks,
Johnson, Marion, Morgan, rush, and Shelby. In east central
Indiana, Henry. In south central Indiana, Brown, Jackson,
Lawrence, and Monroe. In southeast Indiana, Jennings. In
southwest Indiana, Daviess, Greene, Knox, Martin, and
Sullivan. In west central Indiana, Clay, Owen, Putnam, and
Vigo.

* Through Sunday morning

* rainfall of 2 to 3 inches is expected through Sunday morning,
in areas that have already received as much as 4 inches of
rainfall in the last week. This will likely worsen flooding on
area waterways and lead to flooding of other streams, low lying
areas, and poor drainage areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
