Flood Warning
Issued: 8:46 PM EST Feb. 22, 2019 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Riverton.
* Until Saturday March 02.
* At 8:00 PM Friday the stage was 16.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it will rise to near 16.2 feet by Thursday evening then
begin falling. It will fall below flood stage Friday March 01.
* At 16.0 feet... some agricultural lands underwater. A few rural
roads in Crawford County, Illinois close as water backs up minnow
Slough. High water affects campground at Leaverton Park in
Palestine. A few private roads near the Gill Township Levee in
Sullivan County may flood. Water level is at the top of most
makeshift levees.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Wabash River at Hutsonville legacy Power Plant site.
* Until Saturday March 02.
* There have been no observations in the last 24 hours.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it is forecast to rise above flood stage Sunday evening,
crest at 17.3 feet Thursday afternoon, and then fall below flood
stage by Friday March 01.
* At 18.0 feet... seep water occurs behind levees on Indiana side.
Hutson creek begins to overflow from backwater. Old Darwin Road
and a few rural roads in eastern Clark and Crawford counties in
Illinois are impassable. Low agricultural land floods.

Wind Advisory
Issued: 3:16 AM CST Feb. 23, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory remains in effect from midnight tonight to 9 PM
CST Sunday...

* timing... strong winds are expected to begin late tonight. The
highest gusts are expected through Sunday morning, before
diminishing slightly in the afternoon.

* Winds... west winds of 25 to 35 mph will gust as high as 45 mph
at times.

* Impacts... loose, light weight objects will be thrown around.
Driving will be difficult, especially for high profile
vehicles on north to south oriented roadways.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 mph or gusts of 45 mph are
expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
