NWS storm survey team determined that the damage caused to the
Monmouth fire station's roof was caused by 80-90 mph straight
line winds from a supercell thunderstorm. These winds caused
two garage doors to fail. Once this happened, air rushed
into the building and took a 20 foot by 80 foot part of the
roof off. Shingle damage and minor tree damage was also found
in this location consistent with straight line winds.
