... Wind Advisory in effect until 4 PM CDT this afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Quad Cities has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect until 4 PM CDT this afternoon.

* Timing... through much of the day.

* Winds... northwest sustained at 25 to 35 mph with gusts to around
45 mph. These winds should diminish by late afternoon.

* Impacts... lightweight outdoor objects may be blown around.
Driving may become difficult for lightweight and high profile
vehicles. Postpone any outdoor burning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 mph or greater are
expected, which can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution if you are traveling.

... Very windy today...

A cold front will sweep through the area late this morning and
afternoon. Sustained winds will increase to 25 to 35 mph with
gusts to 45 mph possible.

The strongest winds are expected to occur between 10 am and 3 PM.

The strong winds will cause some driving difficulties, especially
for high profile vehicles. In addition, loose and unsecured
objects may be blown around with the gusty winds today.

Any outdoor burning should be postponed today.
