Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 10:21 AM MDT Mar. 29, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon MDT today...

* location... the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and the Wet Mountains
including La Veta Pass.

* Cause and timing... a moist Spring storm system will drift
slowly east across the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles into
Kansas today.

* Snow accumulation... additional accumulations 1 to 4 inches.

* Impact... travel will be hazardous particularly over the higher
elevations due to snow, and poor visibilities.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected. Significant amounts of snow are forecast
that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If
you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
