through Tuesday afternoon...
* what... heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 18
inches with up to 2 feet possible across the higher peaks.
* Where... the eastern sawatch and western Mosquito Range, the La
Garita and eastern San Juan Mountains, the upper Rio Grande
Valley and northwest sawatch County, the Sangre de Cristo
Mountains, the Wet Mountain Valley, western and central Fremont
County, and Pikes Peak above 11000 feet.
* When... from Sunday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon with
heaviest falling Sunday night through Monday morning, and
another round falling Monday night through Tuesday morning.
* Additional details... expect deteriorating travel conditions
Sunday night with slick and snowpacked roads expected through
Tuesday. Travel could be very difficult to impossible at
times... especially for the morning commutes. The cold wind
chills as low as 25 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed
skin in as little as 30 minutes.
