High Surf Advisory
Issued: 12:24 PM PST Jan. 18, 2018 – National Weather Service

... High surf advisory remains in effect until 8 PM PST Saturday...

* surf... 4 to 7 feet today. 5 to 10 feet with sets up to 12 feet
Friday through Friday night. 4 to 8 feet with sets to 10 feet
Saturday. Highest surf in southern San Diego County and
northern Orange County.

* High tides at la jolla: 5.60 feet at 9:11 am today, 5.41 feet
at 9:42 am Friday, and 5.07 feet at 10:16 am Saturday.

* Impacts... large breaking waves, very strong rip currents,
waves overtopping jetties and coastal rocks and sneaker waves.
Minor coastal flooding and beach erosion during high tides.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents, beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.
