The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a red flag
warning, which is in effect from 7 PM this evening to 7 PM PDT
Thursday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* Affected area... fire weather zone 213, 215, extreme northern and
western portion of zone 216, extreme western portion of zone
217, zone 263, 264, 266, and 279.
* Wind... north wind 10 to 20 mph with gusts 25 to 35 mph.
* Humidity... overnight humidity recoveries as low as 30 to 40
percent, locally in the 20s. Daytime minimum humidities below 15
percent, locally in the single digits.
* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
