The National Weather Service in Tulsa has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
a dam floodgate release in...
northwestern Carroll County in northwestern Arkansas...

* until 915 PM CDT Sunday

* at 921 am CDT, corps of engineers continued to have the floodgates
on the Beaver Dam open which may continue to cause flash flooding
downstream on the White River.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Benton County in northwestern Arkansas...
Madison County in northwestern Arkansas...
Franklin County in west central Arkansas...
Crawford County in northwestern Arkansas...
Carroll County in northwestern Arkansas...
Washington County in northwestern Arkansas...

* until 400 PM CDT Sunday

* at 403 am CDT, scattered showers continue across the warned area
and will be ending during the morning hours on Sunday. Additional
rainfall will not be significant. However, widespread storm total
rainfall amounts of 3 to 6 inches with locally heavier amounts
near 8 inches have fallen across northwest Arkansas. Several
roadways have been reported closed due to the flooding and many
low water crossings are likely flooded. US Highway 412 east of
Siloam Springs near the Illinois River is flooded and partially
impassable. Despite the fact that the heavier flooding rains have
ended, the flood waters will be slow to recede.

Interstate 40 in Arkansas between mile markers 9 and 42.
Interstate 49 between mile markers 22 and 84, and between mile
markers 86 and 93.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
