... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 6 am akdt
Thursday...

* what... snow and blowing snow expected with areas of poor
visibility. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches are
expected.

* Where... western Arctic coast.

* When... noon today to 6 am Thursday. Heavy snow showers will
develop this afternoon and continue through Wednesday night.

* Additional details... winds gusting as high as 40 mph tonight
and Wednesday will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow with
low visibility.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for wet snow and blowing snow means
periods of wet snow and blowing snow will cause primarily travel
difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited
visibilities, and use caution while driving.




High Surf Advisory

... High surf advisory in effect from 10 PM this evening to 4 PM
akdt Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a high surf
advisory, which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to 4 PM akdt
Wednesday.

* Location... along the coast from Wainwright to Point Lay.

* Waves... will cause high surf.

* Winds... north 30 mph gusting to 40 mph.

* Timing... strong winds will develop tonight causing waves to push
onshore. The strongest winds and highest surf are expected to
be early Wednesday morning. The winds and surf will decrease
Wednesday afternoon.

* Impacts... surf will wash to the top of the beach. Minor beach
erosion is expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that localized beach erosion is
expected. Precautions should be taken to protect property.
