Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued a freeze
warning... which is in effect from 11 PM this evening to 7 am akdt
Tuesday. The freeze watch is no longer in effect.

Temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 20s late tonight
across the northeastern Gulf Coast... including Yakutat.
Temperatures across the north central Panhandle will fall into
the upper 20s to the lower 30s. Temperatures are expected to warm
quickly by 9 am akdt Tuesday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A hard freeze in Southeast Alaska is defined as freezing
temperatures lasting six hours or longer... or temperatures
falling to 28 degrees or colder for any amount of time.

Plants subject to damage from frost or subfreezing temperatures
should be given appropriate protection.

A warning means that a hard freeze is already occurring or
imminent.

This statement will be updated by 10 PM akdt Mon or sooner if
conditions warrant.
